Callao Landfill Model
In 2003, the Provincial Municipality of Callao, commissioned the conversion Petramas Landfill dump La Cucaracha.
Petramas, in record time, managed to transform an unhealthy place, full of flies and rodents, into a place that has the infrastructure and appropriate technology for solid waste disposal, which has earned the recognition and congratulations from national and international authorities. It also foresees the implementation of a landfill clean development mechanism.
We can now say that that the Constitutional Province of Callao has a real landfill which meets the technical and sanitary needs of the people while preserving their environment.
